Makenzie Williams

School of Innovation sophomore Makenzie Williams has been awarded a prestigious National Flight Academy scholarship through Junior Achievement. This honor recognizes her dedication and potential in the field of aviation.

As part of this incredible opportunity, Williams will spend six days this summer immersed in a hands-on aviation experience in Pensacola, Florida, aboard a simulated U.S. Navy aircraft carrier. During her time there, she will engage in flight simulations, mission planning, and the execution of simulated missions, providing her with a taste of real-world aviation challenges.

This highly competitive program offers students a unique opportunity to explore leadership, teamwork, and aviation careers while fostering skills that are essential in today's dynamic work environment.

Makenzie is currently a member of the Springfield High School Marine Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (MJROTC). This experience has allowed her to pursue a future career in the Air Force, where she hopes to contribute to her country while pursuing her passion for aviation.

“We are excited to recognize and congratulate Ms. Williams on this outstanding achievement,” said Crystal Steiner, Director of Junior Achievement of OKI Partners Mad River Region.
