Seniors at SHS who have signed their college letters of intent

The Springfield City School District is proud to announce that five Wildcat student-athletes have signed letters of intent to further their academic and athletic journeys at the college level. The District celebrates these students for their leadership and commitment to success!

  • Emily Bennett (Volleyball): Keiser University (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

  • Danica Finney (Volleyball): Tiffin University (Tiffin, OH)

  • Mileyana Portis (Basketball): Saint Leo University (St. Leo, FL)

  • Taj Powell (Football): University of Louisville (Louisville, KY)

  • Royce Rogers (Football): University at Buffalo (Getzville, NY)

Individually, these Wildcats have greatly contributed to the success of their respective athletic teams.

Emily Bennett and Danica Finney racked up a combined 371 kills for the Wildcats this year, both placing in the Top 10 conference kill leaders. Finney also added 93 blocks and was named to 1st Team All-Conference.

Mileyana Portis has just started her senior year on the basketball court, but she’s been a playmaker in history-making seasons for the Wildcats during her high school career and currently leads the GWOC in points-per-game scored. Portis was also named to 1st Team All-GWOC last year.

Taj Powell & Royce Rogers led the football team to a GWOC Championship this year. Both earned spots on All-Conference teams, with Rogers also earning GWOC Defensive Player of the Year.

The best is yet to come for these Wildcats!
