The SCSD is proud to share that the District has been recognized with two different accolades for exceptionally handling its dollars and cents. The SCSD was awarded the Auditor of State Award with Distinction and the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association and the Association of School Business Officials International.
Simply put: the District’s finances are in excellent shape. Independent auditors found no issues, mistakes, or red flags and applauded the District for clearly communicating its financial story. “This award shows the District makes smart financial decisions, commits to transparency, and is a responsible caretaker of public funds,” said SCSD Chief Financial Officer Nicole Cottrell.
