The Springfield City School District is proud to announce that Superintendent & CEO Dr. Robert F. Hill has been selected as one of five recipients of the Ohio Superintendent Award of Excellence, presented by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.
This award recognizes Dr. Hill’s outstanding leadership, vision and the meaningful impact he has made in the SCSD and across the broader educational community.
Poised at the helm of the District since 2015, Dr. Hill has led several major initiatives, including the implementation of the ‘Leader in Me’ leadership framework for students and staff and the creation of the Health Center at Springfield High, which expands access to medical and mental health care for District students and families. In the classroom, he has placed an importance on data-driven teaching practices and district-wide improvement strategies. Adding to his decisive leadership, Dr. Hill kept student and staff safety at the forefront when the city of Springfield was thrust into the national spotlight as a topic at the 2024 presidential debate.
Dr. Hill has previously earned the Buckeye Association of School Administrators’ Exemplary Educational Leadership Award and the Warren Russell Leadership Award.
A formal recognition will be held at the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation’s Annual Educator Awards Banquet in July, where Dr. Hill will be joined by distinguished educators from Ohio. In addition to this honor, he will receive a $1,000 check to be used toward a project or initiative within the SCSD.
