The Health Center at Springfield High has expanded its services to include comprehensive vision care.

The vision clinic is currently seeing Medicaid and self-pay patients for comprehensive eye exams and eyeglass prescriptions. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

The vision clinic operates four days a week, Monday and Wednesday from 8 AM to 5 PM and Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 AM to 3 PM.

Dr. Cindy Ahern has joined the Health Center to lead vision services, bringing her expertise to enhance patient care. In addition, Rocking Horse Community Health Center (RHCHC) has also hired an optometrist assistant to forward this effort.

Located at Springfield High School, The Health Center opened in partnership with RHCHC in Fall 2024. The idea for creating a School Based Health Center was inspired by recurrent feedback from the community regarding ‘Access to Care’ that was given during the design of the Springfield City School District’s most recent strategic plan.

In addition to vision care, The Health Center offers well child visits, mental health services and same-day sick office visits for District staff members, families and prioritized for students.
