The Springfield City School District was awarded with the Certificate of Excellence (COE) in Financial Reporting by both the Government Finance Officers Association and the Association of School Business Officials International for the fiscal year ended 2022.
In order to receive the award, school districts must submit their Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for review by a team of financial professionals. The Certificate of Excellence is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a notable accomplishment by a government and its management.
“These awards reflect the District's commitment to transparency and high-quality financial reporting,” said District Treasurer Nicole Cottrell. The Springfield City School District is setting itself apart, both as an 11-year recipient of the award and as one of only 63 districts in Ohio to receive this award in the same fiscal year.
