Register now for the April session of Make: Springfield at The Dome! The theme for this month's workshop is The Crazy Chemistry Carnival: Fun with Fizz & Foam. Make: Springfield is open for any student in grades 4-8 and is available via 2 sessions: Session 1: April 8, 15 & 22 or Session 2: April 10, 17 & 24. All sessions are held from 5-7 PM. Workshops are free, but space is limited! Register on the District website or by calling 937-505-2998.
2 HOUR DELAY: Due to slick road and sidewalk conditions in parts of the city, the SCSD will be delayed TWO HOURS on Thursday, February 20. Please note that students will be permitted inside their school buildings 30-minutes prior to the official delayed start time of the school day and that breakfast will not be served.

A new month means a new Make: Springfield program! For March, we are exploring renewable energies and seeing how we can use them in our everyday lives.
Each session is from 5:00pm - 7:00pm here at the Dome at 700 S. Limestone street. Session One is on March 4th, 11th, and 18th and Session Two is on March 6th, 13th, and 20th. If you would like to register, all you have to do is visit https://www.scsdoh.org/o/the-dome

Do you have a student in 6th, 7th, and 8th looking for a new bicycle? How about some hands-on skills? In our ReCYCLE program, over the course of six weeks, students will take an old bicycle and, at the end of the session, receive a new helmet, a water bottle, and, of course, the bike! We apologize for the late notice this month, but it's time for a new Make: Springfield program. Session One starts tomorrow and Session Two begins this Thursday. This month, students will be making a home for a little ice penguin and figure on which materials will keep their penguin alive the longest. It's time for 8th graders to join YOUmedia! Starting now, 8th graders can come to YOUmedia Monday through Friday from 2:30pm to 6:30pm.
7th graders can come for our middle school program on their school's designated day starting at 4:00pm. A bus will take the students from their school to the Dome where the student can be picked up at 7:00pm.
Hayward is on Tuesdays.
Schaefer is on Wednesdays.
Roosevelt is on Thursdays.

Make:Springfield had their creativity flowing as they learned about city planning and created their own city.


Makerspace at The Dome still has spots available for this month for interested students!
April’s theme is CityBuilders: LEGO, Sphero, Action! Students can design their dream city using LEGOs and program robots to roam the streets!

April breakfast and lunch menus are now available online and in the SCSD app! To view in the app: Choose your child's building from the 'Schools' button in the bottom right corner. Then select 'Menu' in the bottom left corner and choose 'Dining' where you can view the menu for each day of the month. TWO HOUR EARLY RELEASE: Due to an updated severe weather forecast by the Clark County Emergency Management Agency, our schools and buses will be released TWO HOURS early on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Springfield High School will release at 12:00 pm, the elementary school will release at 1:00 pm and the middle school will release at 1:45 pm.
All after school activities, practices, games, and events are canceled. The District apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause for families.
