The top ten finalists for the Do the Write Thing contest have been chosen, and FOUR of the ten are from Schaefer! We are so proud of them! Congratulations to Ashantyna Joseph, Dylan Shaw, Olivia Driscoll, and Jasyla Lambey! Good luck in the next round!

Do the Write Thing is a national writing program that gives middle school students the chance to speak out about how violence affects their lives and share ideas about how to reduce it. Ambassadors from across the nation are honored at the DtWT National Recognition Week in Washington, DC, where they meet fellow ambassadors, United States Senators, and members of Congress to discuss the issue of youth violence. Ashantyna, Dylan, Olivia, and Jasyla are moving on in the contest to be considered as ambassadors of SCSD / Springfield. If they are chosen as the ambassador, they will go to DC and have their writing added to the Library of Congress. The Office of the Attorney General will select one ambassador to serve as Washington DC’s National Ambassador, based on their writing.
