The School of Innovation (SOI), a project-based learning Center. Located at 601 Selma Road, the SOI offers a hybrid model of hands-on learning and authentic experiences in a non-traditional setting.
Admittance for grades 9-12 is considered for any current SCSD student or students open-enrolling into the District. Contact the District Enrollment Center for additional information regarding enrolling a student at (937) 505-2828 or via email at centralregistration@scsdoh.org.
Located near The Dome, students attending the School of Innovation enjoy shared programming, engaging in real-world problem solving, developing advanced communication skills, and collaboratively presenting their findings to the community.
Project-Based learning emphasizes hands-on, alternative methods of learning outside the realm of traditional education. This style of learning prepares students to gain the valuable skill of solving problems, while effectively participating as responsible citizens. The real-world aspect of learning prepares students for an immediate career choice or post-secondary education.
Students may participate in Springfield High’s OHSAA sanctioned Division I athletic program, as well as participate in our award-winning music program. Upon successful completion of the senior year, School of Innovation students earn a Springfield City School District diploma.
The School of Innovation is also the new home of Springfield City Online, the District’s online education option, where students are able to take courses in a classroom, a non-traditional setting, online or a combination of options.
