Maria Calijau Chay (left) and Yoselin Calijau Chay (right) just completed their first crochet project! The sixth grade girls have been learning how to crochet by beginning with a granny square tote bag. Maria and Yoselin have been crocheting during their lunchtime and recess since the first of November. They are so happy to have their first project completed. They both plan to gift their tote bags to their mothers for Christmas. “We are excited to give these to our mothers!” said Maria and Yoselin.

Huge shout out and thanks to the Dream Closet organization that supported Lincoln Elementary kindergarten and first grade students with holiday clothes and gifts! It is such a treat and honor to be supported by this group of people. The Dream Closet brought their "crazy elves" and invited students to shop where the only price was that the students do something nice for someone else this holiday season! Go holiday Cats!

Did you know the SCSD has created a monthly podcast that highlights the best of our District? Search for Cat Chat: The Official Podcast of the Springfield City School District on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify or iHeart Radio Podcasts. December's episode is out now -- give it a listen!

Team 4th grade gathered today to celebrate all the students who showed growth in our last round of testing. 4th grade did an amazing job in their assessments. They are led by faithful Wildcat teachers, Ms. Donaldson, Ms. Fain, and Mrs. Silverhorn! Congratulations to all. Go Wildcats!!!

Thank you to all who attended our Winter Wonderland event earlier this week! It was great to see our families, staff members and Promise neighbors enjoying the holiday spirit together. The holiday spirit is alive and well at Lincoln elementary- our multi-lingual elf on the shelf appears at a different location on campus daily! About 10 days of Hinton remain until winter break!
Happy Holidays to all Wildcats and their families.
