Lincoln Elementary was proud to receive a special donation over the weekend that will help carry on the legacy of a fallen hero. The family of Clark County Sheriff's Deputy Matthew Yates and the Springfield Exchange Club worked to install a new bench at Lincoln that honors Deputy Yates' life and service. Deputy Yates was killed in the line of duty nearly 2 years ago. He attended Lincoln as a student and continued to support the school into adulthood. This bench will serve as a place of reflection for his friends and family who knew and loved him.
