Good Afternoon Lagonda Families and Community, We have been communicating to you all year through newsletters and meetings about the progress of our building towards our Yearly Goal(s). I wanted to take time to give you a final wrap up of how we did! Lagonda's WILDLY IMPORTANT GOAL(S), for OVERALL ATTENDANCE we wanted for: STAFF to go from 94% to 97% - final 95.2%, almost half our goal. STUDENT to go from 92% to 97% - final 93.10%, improvement. CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM STAFF to go from 24% to 15% - final 22%, improvement. STUDENT to go from 29% to 26%, final 25.5%, EXCEEDED the goal. We met our PRIORITY GOAL (Student chronic absenteeism) for the state which is awesome! This will help improve our ODE school grade card. Ohio's Chronic Absenteeism in 21-22 was an average of 30% so we are ahead of most schools in OHIO! The state is continuing to lower the rate each year, so we must continue our improvement in the years to come. Now, even though our Priority goal was not Academic, we knew if we could get our students to come to school regularly, we could make a difference in their academic performance. So, how did we do? On or above grade level, in Reading, we went from 9% at the beginning of the year to 37% at the end of the year with over 50% of our students exceeding their typical growth goal. On or above grade level, in Math, we went from 2% at the beginning of the year to 31% at the end of the year with over 50% of our students exceeding their typical growth goal. Students that are not on grade level, but meet their stretch growth in I-Ready 2 years in a row will be on grade level at the end of their 2nd year. Please encourage your student to work on their I-Ready Pathway during intervention and take their I-Ready benchmark tests seriously! Ohio State Tests are also continuing to improve, if you look at our overall proficiency levels, we continue to raise our school average every year since we came back to school full time in the 20/21 school year. I took these results and created a Tri-Fold Presentation for the District Leadership Team at the end of last week. Lagonda Elementary received the Highest Measure-able Result Award in the district for the year! I have attached some pictures of our scoreboard and the presentation from last year. I want to thank each and everyone of you that helped support our school, staff, and especially the students that made this achievement! I want to encourage you that this is the BEGINNING of SUCCESS but it shows WE ARE making a difference. We hope you all have a great summer!

Good Morning Lagonda Parents, We wanted to thank all of our parents/guardians and community members that came to our Family Literacy Night last Thursday! We had some amazing activities and prizes for those that braved the rain. I would also like to give a special thanks to Missy Combs, our ELA instructional coach, for planning the event and Wittenberg staff and students coming out to help run activity tables and providing new books to our students! There was a Family Engagement Survey we are asking all our parents to complete. Those that do complete the survey get put into a raffle for a Kindle! Here is a link to the survey, please have it complete by Friday @3pm! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YCQzZ2-MqtKHaTLo1-SFLvZ3rXwQqC3XRxKSNQ05aok/edit?usp=sharing
