At Fulton Elementary, confidence is a key part of test prep.
Ahead of Ohio State Tests, Fulton again partnered with local barbers and hairstylists to help students show up to testing feeling their best by offering free haircuts and fresh styles in a unique ‘Fresh for the Test’ event.
New this year, students from the Springfield-Clark Career Technology Center (CTC) Cosmetology program joined in on the fun, providing hairstyling, manicures and even leading craft activities. Their efforts turned the day into a full self-care experience for Fulton students.
Now in its third year, the event continues to grow, reinforcing the idea that preparation goes beyond pencils and practice tests.
“This is a small way that we can instill confidence in our students, which is so invaluable at their age,” said Fulton Principal Deborah Howard. “They walked out of the gym with new hairstyles and smiles that couldn’t be ignored. When students feel good about themselves, it carries over into everything they do—‘look good, feel good, test good!’”
Students will begin Ohio State Testing on Tuesday, bringing not only sharpened skills, but a renewed sense of confidence with them!
