The Springfield City School District requires a background check upon hire for employees and volunteers. Additionally, all employees must have an FBI background check every 5 years after initial hire. Background checks are by appointment only. We are unable to accept paper background checks. District background checks must be completed in our Human Resources Office or by an approved fingerprinting vendor. If using an approved outside vendor, please send an electronic copy of the results to the the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and mail a paper copy of the same background check results to the following address:

Background checks conducted by the Human Resources office are the property of the District and cannot be released to individuals or the general public. Background check results administered onsite are automatically sent to ODE. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check or money order.
