The Springfield City School District's School Age Child Care (SACC) Program provides child care for students enrolled in the Springfield City Schools 10 Elementary buildings before school, after school and on most out of school days. The mission of the SACC Program is to provide a safe, caring environment that supports the academic, physical, social and emotional growth of the children entrusted in our care.
The SACC Program is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education as a child care provider and is inspected annually. The program is supported by fees charged to families for child care services provided. This program receives no tax dollars into the budget line.
Registration for the SACC Program begins mid-July prior to the new school year. Each year, returning students must have newly completed paperwork prior to attendance. An annual registration fee of $25.00 for one child and $40.00 for more than one child is due at the time of registration.
Before school care is available 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Children will be able to take advantage of their school's breakfast program before school begins. The morning program serves children from all 10 elementary schools and is housed at Kenton, Lagonda, Mann, Perrin Woods and Snowhill. An adult must bring the children into the building and sign them in to the program.
If your child attends Fulton, Kenwood, Lincoln, Snyder Park or Warder Park/Wayne your child will attend the morning site indicated below. A Springfield City School bus will pick up your child at the assigned morning site and transport them to their home school in time to take advantage of the breakfast program.
Children at any of the before school care sites may take advantage of their school’s breakfast program. Parent’s may also choose to send a “sack breakfast”, which can be eaten at the child care site when the children arrive.
The morning program will be open if the district announces a two hour or less delay. However, if the district should close, the child care program will also close. Parents will be called to pick up their children in the event of school closing.
