Welcome to Springfield! The Springfield City School District is on the move! With a focus on Project Based Learning, a 1:1 student technology initiative, and the development and measurement of non-cognitive factors in classroom contexts, we are addressing the new knowledge economy that requires young people who can collaborate and act independently, think critically, find and evaluate information, persevere despite obstacles, and apply knowledge and skills in new situations. This focus allows us to move forward to improve academic achievement of all students and we appreciate your interest and partnership throughout the process.

Through the generous support of our community, we serve approximately 8,000 students in 15 modern school buildings. We continue to invest in new technology and the tools necessary to be successful in a 21st century learning environment that requires public school systems to be significantly more effective in supporting the education and development of high-need students and their teachers. As this process evolves, we will continue to involve our key stakeholders and members of the community in guiding the district in innovative and meaningful ways.

Our Board of Education and our Leadership Team have set us on a course to become an excellent district in the near future. Our students are making more progress than most of their peers throughout the state, something measured by the state metric called "value added.”  We continue to make remarkable progress in a number of other areas too, and we are proud that our innovative approach to customize and personalize education has earned us state and national commendations.

We hope this website will help you as you learn about us and as you find ways to become involved with your school or with our district. I encourage you to sign up for Key Communicator eNews.  Also, be sure to visit our Facebook Page, Twitter, and YouTube Channel to learn more about the Springfield City School District. If you have questions or comments, you can contact us at 937-505-2800.

Again, on behalf of our staff and the students and families we serve, I welcome you!
